What’s an activity to do when life gets back to “primitive living”? Two typhoons that lashed out IN A WEEK hitting our province, as well, sends us virtually living in the olden times. No electricity means no to what this tech world offers. No tv, not even a radio, no to computers. Neither were there cellphones, because even small gadgets were dead on batteries by the the third day electric supply hasn’t been restored. Candles were our only company at night. And, loud teasing voices from the kids.

We’re basically stuck to doing nothing, except, listen to each other’s “fool tales” and more humor, and of course, eating. What else is there to do, but EAT. Even when refrigerator’s out for days, the family could still find stuff and make each meal time, FAMILY TIME.

Take these red onions which was partly wet because of the winds sending rains towards our storage area. We decided to make onions rings….

 1. Peel and slice the onions half inch thick. Dry in paper towel.

2. Dredge in flour (or I use chicken breading).

3. Deep fry for two minutes.

That easy unless one prefers a tempura-like batter which I skipped doing. Maybe when the weather’s not too stormy…

Simple as it may, the hubs enjoyed this onion recipe along side his beer :)

While I did have my plate with a cup of fried rice with omelette on top and those onion rings. Breakfast. Er, no that’s dinner time :)

Wished for the gloomy weather to go. But, the weather bureau announces yet another typhoon a-brewing in the south. Geez!
