treasures in blogging

29 Mar

My diary days in high school gives me the satisfaction that I get to write my most innermost thoughts. The small note became my best friend. Writing every thought or emotions that came out my mind. Soon, I find myself wanting to share short poems or short write-ups to others. Sending out juvenile thoughts to our school high school paper. Most are rejected. Few poems were luckily published. I was in seventh heaven.

From thereon, I never stopped writing. I may have the worse grammar but, I continue to write because I get this feeling of satisfaction when I had let out every overly fleeting emotions.

Then, few friends have introduced me to blogging. The social media has brought me on a different dimension as per writing is concerned. The digital realm of internet has open doors that provide me with information needed to be more creative and to prepped up my skills. If I ever have one :)

Two years into the blogging world has brought me wonderful opportunities; making friends, virtual friends was the most blissful part. I get to meet people who were too kind to share their technical expertise in the ways f the computer world. Although, I must admit, I am a bad student. I still have so many things to learn. I am grateful and feel blessed that these friends were ever so patient they were always there at just one click of the mouse.

Soon, I realized blogging has not only open doors for gaining friendship. It pave the way for monetary blessings, too. The same feeling when I knew few people would appreciate the works that I do, the benefit I derived from enlisting through various blog advertising sites gives me the freedom to gain extra dough to help augment family income. It is not a lot.

But, I feel flattered that I get to work on the phase I am setting at myself. Write freely. Manage my time using house work and work online at any given time. No pressures. And, I get to enjoy some R&R come payday time.

Blessings come unexpectedly. I get to experience joy and fulfillment in writing more than before. I know this is not a permanent job. But, for the time being, I let me find bliss in what I do.

And, oh before I forget. I would want to share this blog advertising site which a blogger friend has referred to me. Honestly, of all the numerous paid sites that I have applied, this site, perhaps is the only one whom I get the fastest approval of my two sites. I signed up to them just last week, and, yesterday, I was lucky enough to get two high paying opportunities.

When blessing came pouring down on you, it will surely makes you wonder in amazement. How truly blessed!

For all the blessings, always be humble enough to say thanks. For the treasured friends, for your family, for your God-given gifts.

strawberriessss

29 Mar

Not the biggest pieces that I would want to purchase if I am the one buying these red babies at Baguio City. But, I am delighted that eldest daughter went home (finally!) with a “pasalubong” in tow. It was the end of her semestral classes and we picked her up at the city last Wednesday at near midnight. Only to pack her bags again and left to hike a mountain trail off Nueva Viscaya.  Poor girl, she had zigzagged her way down for four hours at Kennon Road and off zigzagging again way up another set of mountain ranges.

She said she was feeling exhausted, with her final exams starting on the second week of March, then coming off with preparation on her final thesis. She confided she was sleep drought lately. Their supposed trip to Nueva Viscaya is in conjunction with the thesis study. And, they were to collect new species of rats Rats! Ew!

Let me change the topic. I don’t wanna delve here talking about rodents. Haha!

So, I was kinda glad she went home with these fresh babies instead of the usual peanut brittle and strawberry preserve. She said she caught up a vendor near the van terminal and she bought two kilos for only seventy pesos per kilo (70).

Sweet! Since yesterday, we were munching these little reds. Hope I could find time today to make it into, perhaps, Strawberry Shortcake. Crossing fingers :)

For those planning to hike off to Baguio City this summer, I suggest visiting Strawberry Farm in La Trinidad. Only a jeepney away (or taxi when you would want to pay 300 pesos from the town area) from the town. There, you could experience “real” strawberry picking. But, instead of paying 70 or 90 pesos per kilo (strawberry prices in the public market), a small basket of strawberries you’d pick will cost you 300 pesos. Haha. It’s the experience that you will be paying :)

There were actually other fresh produce other than strawberries to look forward in La Trinidad. Check out the lettuces, the broccoli. Yay! I had the grandest time…picking strawberries for photo ops’ sake :)

Too evident. Isn’t it?

Why Businesses Need Web Directories

29 Mar

Prep up your business with the help of web directories. Web directories help you reach a wider scope of people who can be your potential customers. You just have to submit to business web directory and that’s it- you can now watch your business grow in astounding heights!
Web directory review

There are a lot of reasons why you should considering getting the aid of web directories. For one, it makes your business’ website a guaranteed high search results in the web. Web directories link potential customers to your website. These customers may be looking for the kind of service you provide in the Internet, and  business listing direct them to you!

Also, web directories help you update and maintain your website for it to become current and reliable. The Internet is constantly filled in with new websites, and these become your biggest competitors as they pile up. You do not want these new website flood you out, so you need to regularly update your website to maintain your high web results. Web directories help you ease out this task by helping you the keep up the high chances of getting linked and seen by potential customers searching on the web.
Web directory review

Another way to guarantee high web results is to have different interpretations of your website. This helps you draw a wider scope of customers. For example, you service include providing home cleaning. A customer looks for this exact kind of service, and so he searches, “maid service” in the search engine. This fails him to getting directed to your site because certainly “home cleaning” and “maid service” don’t match while they practically be meaning the same. This is where web directories come into play. They come up with as many interpretations of your website as possible. This way, they do not only help you by linking you to customers, but also they help you connect to customers who are yet to be amazed by the services you provide.

fish burgers

16 Mar

One of our favorite fish is “dalagang bukid”. Yellow tail fusilier in English. Again, sorry for not providing more information on why it gained its moniker. All I know, its color is not really “red”. It’s actually a food color that the fishmonger doused the fish with :)

Me and hubs enjoyed going to the town’s wet market especially on weekends. We’ll be buying fresh meats for say a week or longer. Pardon me for saying, but, I rarely buy frozen meat, or fresh meat at the grocery. No offense meant to those who prefers to buy them at the supermarket. Maybe our proximity to the market, or, our too far from any grocery store that resembles that of SM Hypermart, have been the reason why we have been purchasing our meats, fruits and veggies at the local market.

But, may I note, (or was it me and my family only) there’s a lot difference in the taste as when “supermarket meats” were cooked. I don’t know. Pardon my thought.

Anyway, last weekend, we scouted these “dalagang bukid”, and bought them. Weekends were usually our seafood days. Even though, the kids would be happier seeing pork chops, instead. But at the strong behest of their dad, we should have to have fish on the table :)

And, to “conceal the fish”, I made them into something they favored. BURGERS!

I love doing this recipe because I can include more veggies. Potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, onions, celery (or malunggay leaves), bell pepper, ginger…i’ll have to dice them too small so the kids (esp. the youngest) will just have to munch them and stop with the whining.

Just add flour, egg, season with salt and pepper and a dash of chili powder. Mix. Then, form into a ball, or whatever shape you like.

Or, if you could use a little help, ask the kids to do the shaping. And, the frying, too. They will surely enjoy every inch of the activity. Before you know it, they’re the ones volunteering to cook.

Oddly shaped huh, it’s okay. It’s kids’ work. Sweet e :)

fresh refresh

14 Mar

A glass of “buco” to refresh tired minds of the two kids who had struggled at their second day of final examination.

  • We had a busy weekend doing reviews. I “forcefully” limited their exposure to any type of digital devices. Their feeling of deprivation, I equate by providing them with foodies they like. The classic spaghetti, roll cake their dad bought, pork “kaldereta on Sunday’s lunch.
  • We just stayed home, leisure was set aside for the time being. The dad promised them a weekend getaway at the end of the school term.

food photos worth a pin-up

10 Mar

It is no doubt, I had photo fun from the foodies that I have been posting in this site. I enjoy home cooking and learning new recipes from television cooking shows inspires me more to prepare something that my family will surely take delight. And, everything that I prepare/cook, even in its simplicity, I’d like to share, so others would be inspired, as well, to do “frugal” but healthy meals to serve their families.

This is the main reason why I always wanted to learn photofunia. So that I’d be able to post the food photos that will truly be inspiring to others. It is really interesting that there are many photo effects which can really enhance the beauty of a single photograph.

Saturday sweetness

3 Mar

It was a lazy Saturday for the whole gang. No schedule whatsoever. We did our grocery yesterday. So, today was just…Facebooking and TV time.

I still haven’t been back into “active” writing. Still in the “brain drain” stage :) I dunno. Hence, the whole week, I spent talking out with friends, gone malling (to help unwind and breath in “new” air  other than the air I smelt from my laptop’s cooling fan), and, yes, eating. Have been indulging into sweets lately. Bought a box of brownies yesterday, and a half gallon of ice cream, and, the whole gang cozies it up in front of the tv until midnight. It was a Friday.

And, just as expected, we woke up as late as 9am today. Actually, if it were not for the knock on the door, we’ll still be snoring…and, look what have we got…

Surprise sweetness from a cousin who lives in Spokane, Washington. I get to talk to her from time to time via Facebook, and, yet, she was mum on telling me she had sneaked these sweets at her dad’s luggage.

I was really surprised Ate Joy.

What a sweet Saturday!
